Alhambra
Constructed on a plateau that overlooks the city of Granada, the Alhambra was built chiefly between 1238 and 1358, in the reigns of Ibn al-Aḥmar, founder of the Naṣrid dynasty, and his successors.

Day 67
I am at a loss for words to describe this lovely fortress. The Moors knew how to live beautifully.
This is the first room as you enter the Nasrid Palace where you want to try to capture the beauty and craftsmanship.
Of the ceilings.
And walls.
And windows.
And hearts.
I wondered what it would have been like to have been a servant at Alhambra. Just to live there.
The gardens are a lovely blend of math and plants.
Note the patterned walkways. These are just rough black and white stones creating a mood as you walk the path.
There are many ingenious ways to carry water. We imagines it was used for cooling in the hot summers.
This is a staircase of water transportation. Water flows down the hill through center fountains at each level, and along each side of the stairs.
Here’s the view of the fortress and the city of Granada.
It was another memorable day.
