Blessing

As we prepare to get our sea legs, I am contemplating the time we will have together.

I have a book of a gazillion prayers, and I often find one that is fitting.

Here’s the one for 40 days and 40 nights of companionship:

“God of love and trust,

bless our hopes, our risk-taking and our commitment;

make us sensitive and  forgiving, 

and give us the wisdom

to allow each other freedom and space.

Let our love be for the world around us

as well as for each other, and keep us centered on you.”
