Wander the World Joyfully

Salou

December 20
Day 71
OK so.
Salou.

This is one of our Timeshare Treasures.  We would not have found it if we weren’t trying to use Timeshare points for lodging!

It’s a small-ish resort town about 20 miles south of Barcelona.  It looks like a family resort town that would be packed in the summers.  But now, it’s fairly quiet.

Off season rules!

There’s a pretty beach within walking distance of our condo with the coolest rocks.
They are veined and spotted and edged with ruffly quartz.

They are giant and really difficult to steal.

There’s a wide promenade with fountains, statues and toys on the beach.
There are beautiful mansions that may have been built on the beach, originally.

Check out the chimney.

This one has a tiled mosaic plaque displaying the name of the Pineda  family.

And this gem, was built by a student of Antoni Gaudi, of Sagrada Familia fame.

There is a bit of more restrained Christmas cheer here.

They kind of make up for it with weird statues.

Is Santa checking an iPad?

And with benches.
In my never ending search for hearts, we found this.

if you can’t zoom in on the picture, here’s what is behind us.

Awwww.

Santa’s on  his way.

No worries!

Merry Christmas!
