Where, Exactly?

Where, Exactly?

November 7

Day 27
This is a great question.

We are here.

We are in the Sargasso Sea.

Latitude 39° 33.55’N
Longitude 49° 40.94’W
We are sailing across the North Atlantic.  Every day has been sunny and warm.  Like swimming, shorts wearing days.
We are in the Azores time zone,  which is 6 hours ahead of Seattle, I think.  We are 2 more days’ sailing from the Azores. One thousand and one miles from the Azores.  The ocean is 5 miles deep.
Just heard the Captain’s Daily Report.  He’s not very chatty.
We have been changing time zones daily.  Yesterday when we were eating a late breakfast, we found out it was actually lunch.
Our best friend Christian, who finds us good coffee, just told us where the best walk AND coffee AND Wi Fi are on the island of Horta .  So we’re set for the next stop.
Sea days are nice.  Tony writes and I do water color lessons.  Tony likes the tables in the buffet best because they are taller than the seats in the Observation Deck.
I like to do my lessons on the balcony in the sunlight and ocean breeze.  Plus, there’s always the hope of seeing  a dolphin or two.

Day 28
Here’s why the people who like to cruise, like it.
I just got my morning coffee at the door. The steward says.  “Good morning.  Morning coffee, Ma’am.”  Then hands the tray to me and says, “Enjoy your breakfast, ma’am”
When does that ever happen?
We seem to be getting our sea legs now.  Although we both got a little nauseous in the fitness center yesterday.   Tony was ellipting and said that sometimes one leg would be ” out of alignment”.  I was rowing and swaying.
However, maybe that’s how rowing is supposed to feel.
Like these guys and their best friend when we were in Newport.
I liked that Newport stop.  It felt like home.  Like Bainbridge Island. Little ships, walkable town,  mansions on the bay sort of place.  Like our old place on Bainbridge…hahaha I crack myself up!  😄
The Fall colors were so pretty though.  I saved some leaves to put with the shells from Mexico and accumulated “art” in our room.
It’s a look somewhere between decorating and pack ratting.
We haven’t heard an airplane in days.  Isn’t that weird?  Tony noticed that.  Having this balcony is like staying in a Beachfront hotel in Hawaii. Or Ocean Shores.

It’s neat you are both busy with creative pursuits. I can’t imagine sitting on the deck in shorts watching for dolphins. How cool is that. Must not be cool or you’d be bundled up like we were on our AK cruise.
